Michael Chiarello has brought his Napa Style retail store to South Coast Plaza, in Costa Mesa.

This upscale store is like no other, with more than 50% of the store’s goods designed specifically by Napa Style.

The 45 year old St Helena entrepreneur brings the essence of Napa Valley living and of course some of his southern Italian heritage to his retail stores.

The shop features many gourmet food items, olive oils, olives, food spreads, sea salts, cookware designed by Michael, beautiful glassware, beautiful signature dinnerware, mostly imported from Italy, some furniture pieces, an assortment of Michaels cookbooks, and many unique items not found in other stores. The Consorzio line of flavored olive oils was founded by Michael and he was named Chef of the year by Food and Wine Magazine.

The two special things that caught my eye was a Lampadina Chandelier, and elegant floating shelf chandelier that utilizes special hardened wax cylinders to perfectly match the look, feel and glow of candles using light bulb’s. Each hollow shade is arranged at various heights on the shelf. This piece would be perfect with any décor from rustic to contemporary.

The second was the NapaStyle Oliveto Dinnerware, an olive branch with a traditional braided edge, hand rubbed in rose and overlaid on ivory for a modern look with old style comfort. Skilled ceramicists in Montelupo, Italy’s legendary ceramic region helped create this design.

Michael hosts two television shows on the food network, filmed in Napa Valley, showing Michael cooking and throwing parties, visitng wineries, restaurants and and introduces you to the  influential people in the wine region.

Michael, has also founded, or served as executive chef, at 15 leading restaurants.

His many awarding wining wines can be ordered from the Chiarello Family Vineyards at www.chiarellovineyards.com. He also has the NapaStyle wine club at www.napastylewineclub.com.

Michael said that he created Napa Style “for customers to be able to experience Napa in their own homes.” That he has done, with this beautiful decorated and well stocked store, with its rustic décor and lighting. He strives to be earth friendly and uses reclaimed materials as much as possible.
